Survive Her Affair Review
Let me share with you what I learned from Kevin’s book…
The ebook is 129 pages, nicely laid out and very easy to read. The text is broken up into short paragraphs, so the material does not seem overwhelming. After the Introduction, the first few pages go into the “Evolutionary Psychology” of men. It talks about the “jealous storm” within guys and why they feel like they are dying inside after discovering their wife’s affair.
Kevin, then dives right into the emotional trauma of being cheated on. He likens what you are going through to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In fact psychologists are calling the emotional trauma you’re going through Post Infidelity Stress Disorder (PISD).
He lets you know that what you are feeling is normal for guys in your situation and gives you some tips on how to deal with your emotions. The point of this part of the book is to let you know that you are not alone in feeling the way you do and it is ok to reach out for support.
This section talks about the four key “trust factors” that needs to be in place if there is to be any hope of saving the marriage after she cheats. This involves certain things that your wife has to do to prove her commitment to the relationship and help you heal.
Types of Affairs
I’ve read other books that list up to seven different types of affairs, but here Kevin gives only four. He categorizes them by duration or how long the affair lasts. The rationale is if you know what type of affair your wife had, then you’ll know how easy or difficult it is to rebuild the marriage.
Why She Cheated
Why? Why did she do it? I’m sure you’ve asked yourself that question a thousand times. Heck you probably asked her that question a thousand times as well. This chapter lists the reasons why women cheat. Which is not to excuse the behavior, but rather to shed some light on the matter and give you some much needed perspective.
Why it Hurts
This section covers a lot of ground. It covers dealing with the pain and betrayal of finding out that your wife slept with another man. Some great tips here on how to deal with obsessive images of your wife and her lover and also why comparing yourself to the other man is dangerous to your mental health.
Feel Better About Yourself
One of the first things that goes down the toilet after you found out she cheated is your self-esteem. This section starts out by giving you a powerful exercise that you can do right now to help you feel better about yourself.
Feeling good about yourself is an important first step in healing from the emotional trauma that you are facing and this part of the book is not going to let you down. It’ll give you all the help you need to press on.
Talking About Her Affair
Talking about the affair is one of the biggest obstacles to overcome when dealing with cheating in a relationship. Usually the betrayed spouse wants to talk while the cheater does his or her best to stall and avoid answering any questions.
As the cheated on spouse, there is a right way and a wrong way to get the answers that you need. Here is where you’ll learn how to go about talking about the affair with your wife in a productive way that is going to get you the answers you are seeking. You’ll also learn about the two levels of conversation that you must have in order to heal.
Healing Your Marriage
If you and your wife decide to work things out, you’ll find this section of the book very helpful. You’ll learn how to establish boundaries, deepen your intimacy and more. This section also helps you to figure out if your wife still loves you or if the love has died.
To Stay or go
That’s the million dollar question. And while only you can make that decision this section helps you focus on the right things that you need to consider before making such a life changing decision. Now there are some good and valid reasons for wanting to save your marriage. But there are also some darker motivations that you might not be aware of. Kevin tells you how to examine your heart to see if you are basing your decision on any of these unhealthy factors.
This is the final chapter in the book. It talks about moving on if there is no hope for a reconciliation. Basically he’s telling you that it is ok to be a victim in the short-term, but you don’t want to remain a victim of your wife’s affair forever and continue to wallow in self-pity.
What I Like About Kevin Jackson’s Survive Her Affair book
The book is written by a guy, so it’s written in language that guys can relate to. The advice is not generic. It is given from the viewpoint of a guy whose wife cheated on him and how he managed to survive the emotional turmoil and rebuild his marriage. Kevin also intersperses some of his own experience dealing with his wife’s infidelity.
Even though both men and women who are cheated on experience some of the same intense emotions, guys face some unique issues when dealing with their wives infidelity. Kevin understands that. He touches on topics that I haven’t seen mentioned in other books.
What I don’t like
The book does use some adult language. But to be fair, Kevin warns you about it up front. So you are not going to be surprised when you come across some of his more “colorful language.”
Who is This Book For?
This book is for guys dealing with a cheating wife.
If you want the answers to the crazy questions in your head like was he a better lover than me, this is for you.
If you want to know how to get rid of all the negative images that is driving you to distraction, this book is for you.
If your wife had or is having an affair, this book can help you get through the tough times ahead. No, it’s not a magic pill and it’s not going to take away all the hurt and pain overnight. Look at it like it is your best friend talking to you and giving you advice and the benefit of his experience, because he too was once in your shoes.
Now if you intend to buy this book, read it once and just put it away, then don’t buy it. After initially reading it, you need to read it again and put into action the tips and strategies that you learn. Take action. If you do nothing to help yourself, come this time next year, you’ll still be hurting and in pain and may be even losing your wife and marriage.
Price of the eBook
The ebook is priced just right at $47 for the book plus the MP3 audio version (at the time of this review). This is such a small price to pay to get the help you need to heal and rebuild a much better marriage.
Once you place your order on the secure website, you’ll get access to the ebook immediately even if it’s 2 o’clock in the morning.

If nothing else this book can prevent you from carrying around the misery of her affair for the rest of your life. It’ll help you regain your sanity and give you back your peace of mind.
