Welcome And Why Forgiveness Is A Choice You Make Every Day
I came across a quote about forgiveness the other day that I would like to share with you.
“Holding on to anger, resentment and hurt only gives you tense muscles, a headache and a sore jaw from clenching your teeth. Forgiveness gives you back the laughter and the lightness in your life”.
We all have those days when we’re clenching our teeth. Sometimes it’s hard to forgive and find our way back to happiness, especially after a spouse cheats. We feel the need to hang on to the anger and hurt, and get some sort of revenge for the wrong done to us.
Yet often that revenge never comes because the other person has long moved on with their life, or didn’t realize how much they hurt us in the first place.
And sometimes we do get our revenge. We get a chance to lash out and hurt back. When it’s done we feel hollow inside and realize too late that causing more pain does not cancel out the pain we receive.
Instead, our time and energy would be much better spent learning to forgive and move on with our life.
Are you ready to give Forgiveness a try and get the “laughter and the lightness in your life” back?
The good news is that it’s something that’s very achievable and well within your reach.
All it takes is a decision on your part to forgive.
That’s a pretty powerful feeling, isn’t it?
Forgiveness is a choice you make for yourself and that gives you full control over the situation.
So often, we feel like the victim when someone hurts us, or takes advantage of us. Forgiveness is the tool we can use; to not only find happiness, but also the key to free us from a prison of resentment, anger and bitterness.
We’ll talk more about how hanging on to the anger and pain, and refusing to forgive gives the other person a hold over us in a future blog post.
For now, realize that Forgiveness is your choice to make. You hold all the cards. It’s not always easy, but something you can do for yourself.
And that’s what the next 30 days is all about. Over the coming days I will post here on the blog daily with tips, advice, and strategies to help you embrace Forgiveness.
